Brookes & Sons (Tarpaulins) Ltd. was founded in 1954 by Mr. Jack Brookes-Fazakerley. Originally based in Liverpool where Jack and his two sons, David and Anthony, joined in 1965. In 1969 the company opened a trading depot in Conwy and by 1977 the charms of Wales had taken the Brookes family to where it runs it’s main depot from to this today. 1977 also saw the year that the Company Secretary Dyllis Brookes joined and still presently runs all the tarpaulin manufacturing. After many years of developing the business, Jack passed away in 1983 with David then becoming Managing Director, a position he still holds. Now in it’s third generation, Gavin Brookes, who joined in 1996, has taken the business on to and in to the many industries it serves today. Joined more recently by Victoria Brookes in 2010.
During it’s early years the company specialised in manufacturing tarpaulins for the road haulage and construction industries. Whilst supplying tarpaulins to these industries, an opening was seen for the company to supply additional products. It started by supplying different personal protective products before moving into traffic management equipment as the need arose.
Brookes & Sons (Tarpaulins) Ltd. has now grown into one of the United Kingdom’s leading suppliers of traffic management equipments and site supplies with customers nationally and globally. Our tarpaulin division has developed over the years from just haulage and construction. We now cover a vast range of products from lorries to wind turbines to aeroplane wings to ski slopes to boats, with the list ever-growing!
We employ a highly trained and experienced workforce, many of whom have been with the business for a long time, who all offer a friendly service whilst priding ourselves on our commitment to quality.
